Job Summary:

 

Radiology Equipment Specialist (RES) displays and practices a work-style that reflects the mission, vision and values of the department and hospital and projects an image of professionalism in communication, appearance and conduct. Maintains a working knowledge of departmental standard operating procedures. Provides technical knowledge and the ability to test, repair and maintain assigned equipment devices. Position may require travel between various Hoag locations and its affiliates.

 

Radiology Equipment Specialist I: 

Under direct direction and supervision  the Radiology Equipment Specialist I will:

  • Perform preventative maintenance, inspection, repair and installation of all non-ionizing radiology equipment.

 

Education, Training and Experience

 

Required:

 

Radiology Equipment Specialist I: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum one (1) year experience in repair and maintenance of biomedical equipment
  • A.S. degree in electronics technology or equivalent experience /knowledge as determined by the Equipment Specialist Supervisor
  • Demonstrates mechanical aptitude

 

Skills or Other Qualifications Required:

Demonstrates effective communication, interpersonal skills, organizational ability, and knowledge of proper body mechanics, safety measures and infection control, ability to follow instructions.

Required:           

Excellent communication skills; customer focused; excellent attention to detail; able to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines; strong interpersonal skills; able to work in a team environment. Knowledge of proper body mechanics, safety measures and infection control, ability to follow instructions. Must be able to sit, stand, walk and push heavy objects for long periods of time. Must be able to use applicable technology in order to effectively track and complete job duties. Must have knowledge of section specific test information and instrumentation may be required. Maintain understanding of healthcare environment and the impact on their position, department, and organization. Demonstrate an understanding of products and services for business line and industry.

 

Preferred:          

Specialized Training from Original Equipment Manufactures (OEM’s) and/or Certifications

 

License and Certifications

 

May be required: 

Valid California driver’s license required for those who are authorized to operate Hoag vehicles.

 

Preferred:      

Specialized Training from OEM’s and/or Certifications. Completed Ultrasound service training background. Must have training or knowledge of basic electricity and electronics desired.
