The Sr. Project Analyst

– Value Management is responsible for supporng the implementaon of iniaves that are focused on delivering strategic value to Hoag. Under the guidance of the Vice President or a Project Manager, they will leverage their analycal skills to support metrics development and performance measurement on data-driven iniaves. They also support the translaon of strategic informaon and complex data analyses into compelling, execuve-level plans and presentaons. They will build skills in project management, process improvement and organizaonal change with the goal of ulmately managing large iniaves that impact operaons and influence strategic goal achievement.


The Sr. Project Analyst will translate quantave and qualitave concepts into complex business models and key performance indicators. They must understand and accurately apply administrave, clinical, financial, market and demographic data for use in data-driven improvement iniaves. They will design and execute quantave analyses to support hypotheses, enable informed decision-making, and drive performance improvement insights. They will conduct their analysis independently once the approach to the analysis has been structured, which includes collecng data, idenfying data integrity risks, and developing an acon plan to cleanse data as needed. They will conduct external/internal research as needed on new concepts and subject maer associated with their assignments. They will develop and deliver execuve-level presentaons that clearly and concisely tell a compelling story.


The Sr. Project Analyst will support process opmizaon exercises based on Connuous Improvement principles (Six Sigma, Lean). They will apply quality management tools to minimize waste, decrease errors, increase efficiency and effecveness, and improve paent and caregiver experience. They will present their analyses and insights to project leadership, supporng the translaon of analycal findings into impacul iniaves that will improve performance. They will review key performance indicators for a given iniave and create variance reports to help monitor progress compared to plan. Based on findings, they will recommend improvements that provide addional benefits and value.


The Sr. Project Analyst will build skills in the OVM project management methodology and lead smaller projects of medium level complexity. They will build and maintain an internal network for informaon support and perform other dues as assigned. Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Project Management
Leads and manages projects. Successfully employs key project management skills including defining objectives in a way that is precisely understood, ensuring the commitment of individuals to those objectives, defining the methods of measurement, and ensuring timelines and deliverables are identified and met. 


Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years of relevant work experience OR High School Diploma/GED and at least 5 years of relevant work experience


Understanding of a broad range of data types – administrave, financial, demographic, market, clinical, etc. - as well as an understanding of business performance metrics, benchmarks, targets and calculaons


Financial analysis and financial modeling experience


Experience in data gathering and business analysis (including structuring and translang data into the most meaningful informaon for the audience)


Experience partnering with colleagues from several parts of an organizaon to collect, synthesize, organize and interpret complex sets of data Degree/training in industrial engineering, finance, or business preferred


Previous experience in performance/process improvement projects including, but not limited to, those involving Lean or Six Sigma methodologies preferred


Experience managing healthcare-related projects and familiarity with the healthcare provider industry preferred Familiarity with healthcare-specific data and systems preferred


Certifications Preferred

Project Management Instute cerficaon (e.g., CAPM, PMI-PBA) Cerficaon in Lean or Six Sigma methodologies
