Senior Counsel is responsible for supporting a wide variety of legal matters across the Hoag enterprise. The ideal candidate will be a healthcare attorney with expertise in contract development and management, transactions with physicians, medical foundation operations, clinical research, payer contracting, privacy and security, and licensing. This exciting role is a full-time position and reports to our Chief Legal Officer. Essential functions include:
Providing practical, solutions-oriented legal advice, guidance, and representation to Hoag and its related entities with respect to healthcare transactions, physician compensation arrangements, and hospital and clinic operations.
Reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts, clinical research agreements, agreements with physician-entities, and payer agreements.
Developing policies and procedures to operationalize best practices and ensure regulatory compliance.
Communicating with regulators and advising on licensing issues.
Providing business and legal perspective and advice on a wide range of strategic, tactical and operational issues.
Relevant areas of law include corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, governance, joint ventures, regulatory matters, fraud and abuse, privacy and security, provider-payor contracts, digital health, clinical research, and employment.
Developing facts in support of legal diligence and investigations.
Corporate governance support, and other related tasks as assigned.
Education and Experience
To meet the minimum qualifications for this position you must be a graduate from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association and have at least eight years of post-J.D. legal experience as a healthcare attorney, which may be a combination of private practice, government agency practice, and/or in-house position.
License(s) Required
Member in good standing with the California Bar.

information, neither Hoag nor our service providers can ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us over the internet. Any such transmission is at your own risk.

You may have the opportunity to follow a link on the Sites to other websites operated by third parties that may be of interest to you. Hoag endeavors to link only to reputable websites related to your areas of interest. Because these other websites may

11. Changes To This Privacy Policy
The Privacy Policy may be revised from time to time as new features and services are added, as laws change, and as industry best practices evolve. Any changes to our Privacy Policy will be shown by posting the new Privacy Policy at

12. California Immunization Registry
Hoag may share your immunization or tuberculosis (TB) screening test records with the California Immunization Registry (CAIR), a statewide, secure and confidential database of patient immunization information. The CAIR is used by health care professionals,
agencies, and schools to keep track of all shots and TB tests you take, and can provide proof about immunizations needed to start child care, school, or a new job. If you do not want your immunization or TB records to be shared with other registry
users, please fax or email the “Decline or Start Sharing/Immunization Information Request Form,” available on the CAIR website at

13. Your California Privacy Rights

each year, and is not required to respond to requests made by means other than through the above email address.
