MULTISKILLED FACILITIES ENGINEER II - ENGINEERING

Salary Range: 27.88 - 42.90 /hour. Actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, skill level, and education.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The Multiskilled Facilities Engineers are responsible for the maintenance and repair of all areas in the hospital. Engineers will be required to consistently respond to work orders, emergencies and scheduled maintenance in a timely fashion. Engineers must be able to work by Hoag standards in a safe and orderly process, foster a work environment that promotes continuous improvement of engineering functions and actively functions as a team member and demonstrates commitment to quality of service.

The Multiskilled Facilities Engineer works with Life Safety systems, fire alarm, FM-200, nurse call, methane detection, water detection, intercom, antenna, security systems, and medical gas. Will also monitor cooling, heating, and ventilation areas utilizing the Hospital’s building management systems. In addition, the Multiskilled Facilities Engineer will correctly perform basic repairs to lighting systems.

The Multiskilled Facilities Engineer installs new framing, corner protection, door assemblies, tapes, finishes drywall and refinished casework. Perform preventative maintenance on HVAC, Electrical and low voltage equipment, which includes fire alarm, nurse call, methane detection, water detection, intercom, antenna, safety and security systems as assigned. The Multiskilled Facilities Engineer should be familiar with Locksmith responsibilities, which includes the duplication of keys; installation, repair and replacement of worn door locks, padlocks, desk locks, and cabinet locks.

 

Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent

Minimum of Four (4) years of experience in building maintenance and repair, preferably in a healthcare setting

Basic knowledge of plumbing, lighting, building trades and painting work

Knowledge of body mechanics, safety measures and infection control, ability to follow instructions, section specific test information and instrumentation

Must have strong knowledge of Hoag’s computer software (i.e. Kronos, Service Now, Lawson, Swiss Log and Building Management systems)

Maintains strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, lighting, pneumatic tube system, food service equipment
