The Medical Assistant works cooperatively with the practice team to deliver five-star care to our patients. S/he is often the liaison between the patient and the physicians. Anticipating and understanding the patients’ needs, the Medical Assistant works extremely well under pressure, has strong problem-solving skills and provides outstanding care. The Medical Assistant strives to empower our patients to be the healthiest people in the world through their friendly and caring demeanor.


• Provide Outstanding Service to Patients and Fellow Team Members

o Develop strong relationships with patients in order to anticipate their needs and provide the highest quality care and service possible

o Proactively greet patients, addressing them by name and introducing them to other team members as appropriate

o Partner with other members of the team to create a warm, accommodating environment that is attentive to the patients’ needs

o Coordinate with the physician and the medical team to satisfy patient needs (both known and anticipated)

o Collaborate with team members to accomplish goals and solve problems

• Manage Patient Care Needs as Part of the Health Care Team

o Collect and document patient information including but not limited to: vital signs, blood, and other specimen collection

o Perform diagnostic testing as requested by the physician or designated health professional

o Actively participate in the monitoring of patient conditions and needs, providing the appropriate follow-up support to satisfy the patient’s needs; follow-up on patient status

o Schedule patients for referral providers

o Comply with all company policies and procedures

• Manage Patient Data in an EMR System

o Proficiently use the EMR system (eCW) to manage the patient’s health needs

o Collect pertinent patient data and coordinate with provider and team for appropriate patient care and servicing

o Effectively use the EMR to quickly respond to patient and team needs including but not limited to: entering demographics, charting, submitting online orders for labs and other procedures, managing incoming electronic data requests, proactive calls, all prior authorizations


Education, Training and Experience


• High School diploma or GED

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant school

• Graduate of an accredited Phlebotomist program

• 2 years of Medical Assistant experience in a private practice

• Experience with an Electronic Medical Record system


Skills or Other Qualifications


• Outstanding ability to work as a member of a team

• Excellent communication skills (oral and written), as well as active listening skills

• Excellent phone etiquette, customer service skills

• Proficient using a computer with Windows-based applications including Microsoft Word and Excel

• Excellent organization skills; ability to multi-task; excellent follow-through on both task and project level

• Ability to learn on the job and adapt to a dynamic environment


License and Certifications


• CPR certification required or willing to obtain within 30 days of hire
