MANAGER IT TESTING & QUALITY MANAGEMENT

The Manager, Information Technology (IT) Testing and Quality Management is responsible for leading and implementing testing methodology across Hoag Hospital's (Hoag) IT environment for use by all applications and infrastructure components. Leads, develops, and delivers communications with business leaders and business sponsors regarding the business value of consistent, coordinated IT testing.  Oversees institutionalization of effective and standardized testing processes and tools.  Utilizes industry standard IT audit methodology to lead the internal IT audit function to self-assess and report using accepted audit frameworks.  Manages IT department policies and procedures to ensure updates are maintained and current. 

 

Job Specific Essential Functions:

 Oversees, facilitates and coordinates all aspects of IT testing for all IT projects. This position acts as a liaison between appropriate members of the Information Technology department and hospital and contractual personnel.

 Oversees reviews of automated test results, and identifies, analyzes and reports bugs as applicable.

 Oversees development and execution of test plans and test cases and assistance to testing organizations with preparing testing estimates.

 Oversees creation and support of a standard test environment to ensure quality through testing process and improved productivity through standardized testing processes (wherever possible) and disaster recovery programs. Works with testing organizations to select and plan testing strategies.

 Oversees development and management of enterprise testing standards for use by all IT groups. Leads in the identification and analysis of exceptions to and within the testing process. Leads definition and development of Hoag's IT testing lifecycle. Educates business partners in the need, benefits, and execution of testing. Reviews test deliverables for completeness. Leads analysis of automated testing tools for applicability to test scenarios and requirements. ·

 Champions the application of quality principles in business and IT processes through training, meeting and team facilitation, communication programs and team building activities.

 Supports identification of IT components required for testing.  Define guidelines for various test forms (regression testing, user testing, acceptance testing, integration testing, stress testing, volume testing, etc.) and the appropriate tester for each test form. Build and maintains a library of official test templates, examples, and deliverables for various tested components. Supports test directors in the execution and analysis of tests. Analyzes best-in-class processes, establishes customer satisfaction metrics, and understands the interaction and relationship of business operations and operating systems and network processes.

 Conducts IT department audits using established methodologies.  Oversees the identification of audit findings and facilitates resolution among stakeholders for audit gaps.  Develops and reports audit dashboards and status for leadership.

 Oversees IT department policies and procedures by working with individual owners to ensure materials are kept current.  Manages regular reviews of all IT policies and procedures and ensures updates are maintained with required version control and coordination with Hoag enterprise resources. 

 

 

Education, Training and Experience 
Required:  

7+ years’ Experience in developing and conducting test processes for multiple types of systems, client users and/or units across an organization.  2+ years’ experience in leading test planning, execution and analysis for a mid- to large-sized Organization.  Experience leading the development of testing lifecycle.  Experience with automated testing tools, such as WinRunner or LoadRunner.  Experience with the execution of IT audits using industry standard frameworks (i.e. IT General Controls SOX, etc.).  Experience facilitating department-level policies and procedures.  Bachelors or above degree in computer science or related technical field (may substitute an equivalent combination of education and experience

 

Preferred:  

Masters Degree in Computer Science or Business
