Job Description:

The IT Manager Mobile Solutions directly oversees technology, infrastructure, mobile applications ,operating systems & IT Operations related to all Hoag mobile solutions including hardware, software, operating systems and mobile applications deployed enterprise wide. Manages all activities and staff related to the integration, production administration, and support of mobile technology , applications and infrastructure for Hoag enterprise including, but not limited to mobile devices, MDM solutions, communications platforms, mobile applications , operating systems and infrastructure, including related cloud/SaaS solutions. Oversees primary operational support and strategic technology planning for areas of responsibility and ensures compliance with departmental process.

Builds and leads teams to help develop and execute the technology roadmap and effective IT operations.

Leads in accordance with all established security and risk management practices. Works with peers to execute standards, leverage knowledge and implement best practices. Leads the prioritizing, scoping, estimating, implementation and on-going support of related infrastructure and technology solutions within scope of responsibility in support of business initiatives.

 

Maintains professional knowledge of current trends and developments in the Information Technologies (IT) and healthcare field. Projects an image of professionalism in communication, appearance and conduct.  Supports IT’s mission to provide quality service to our internal and external customers.

 

Essential Functions:

 

  • Provides the mobile technology capabilities and IT Operations on which the business depends for ongoing operations and growth.
  • Keeps abreast of related existing and emerging technologies and identifies those that can contribute most to the business.
  • Ensures all infrastructure and applications as assigned are performed to established availability and reliability metrics and provide a highly available and resilient platform for all clinical and enterprise applications supporting Hoag.
  • Direct management of resources in pursuit of meeting departmental and enterprise projects/initiatives.
  • Ensures that infrastructure performance and reliability is measured and proactively maintained.
  • Oversees all third party mobile technology, including mobile device management (MDM) solutions.
  • High degree of technical acumen and an understanding of working with matrix teams.
  • Manages efforts around technical documentation on all supported technology platforms as assigned
  • Manages development and implementation of technical standards, design practices, procedures, and processes for all supported infrastructure for effective engineering and on-going IT operations for assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Executes strategy and leads planning efforts to ensure the organization has the appropriate, mobile infrastructure, support resources, budget, tools, and customer satisfaction metrics needed to provide the highest level of customer service. 
  • Manages establishment of quality standards and performance metrics. Oversees monitoring and analysis of performance metrics. 
  • Manages security aspects for assigned technologies, including but not limited to mobile device management and device operating system patching/updates, and reports ongoing efforts to senior management.
  • Ensures appropriate resources are available to respond to customer inquiries/issues. Resolves complex customer issues.  Investigates and resolves customer relationship problems.
  • Participates in the budgeting process and/or manages area budgets. 
  • Manages software licensing and asset management for assigned technologies.
  • Performs capacity planning for assigned technologies to ensure appropriate technology and infrastructure is in place to support current and planned applications and functions.
  • Leads or contributes to Disaster Recovery Planning and execution as assigned.
  • Ensures teams follow established procedures for management of incidents and tasks per defined SLAs.
  • Delivers a range of IT enabled business change initiatives that allow leaders to meet their strategic obligations.
  • Understands the organization’s core technology and applications.
  • Successfully negotiates complex deals and service level agreements with internal and external partners and vendors.
  • Ensures appropriate governance models are in place regarding IT Operations related to mobile solutions and devices
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Education, Training and Experience

Required:

  • 5-7 years’ experience in IT operations and technology related to mobile applications and devices.
  • 4+ years of supervisor or manager level experience overseeing IT technology and operations group

 

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent field. 
  • Experience in IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) process framework.

 

Skills or Other Qualifications

Required:

  • In depth knowledge of mobile technologies and applications including mobile device management solutions (ex. Airwatch), mobile devices (ipads, iphones) , operating systems (iOS /Android OS), communication platforms
  • Experience with release management practices for mobile applications
  • Experience deploying, managing and supporting 1000+ mobile devices in a multi-site, enterprise environment, preferably in retail or healthcare environment.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to effectively utilize project management tools.
  • Excellent resource management including resource projection and budgeting skills.
  • Ability to work on multiple and complex projects.
  • Strong analytical and process design skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills including documentation and presentation skills.
  • Participate in 7x24x365 management on call.
  • Experience with desktop hardware, software, operating systems and technologies including:  Microsoft solutions (outlook, word,excel, sharepoint), Windows 10, pc and laptop hardware/operating systems, IE and Chrome browsers, GPOs,IEM/ADMX, MS SCCM

 

Preferred:

 

  • Experience with Vocera/Engage and other clinical communication platforms
  • Strong information technology background including familiarity with the latest technologies and trends
