Hoag’s Heart & Vascular Institute is home to eight cardiac catheterization labs: six at Hoag Hospital Newport Beach and two at Hoag Hospital Irvine.
Our State-of-the-art Electrophysiology CATH lab Suite is the first of its kind in Orange County! At an expansive 12,740 square-foot unit including 12 new pre- and post-procedure beds. This is the first Electrophysiology (EP) Cath Lab Suite installation to offer the complete integration of leading-edge EP technology with a special focus on arrhythmia management, to treat conditions such as atrial fibrillation. This progressive technology enables Hoag physicians and clinicians to thoroughly evaluate and diagnose a full spectrum of cardiovascular diseases, as well as provide the latest in state-of-the-art treatment options. The integration of these elements achieves the highest level of efficiency and safety for the patient to support the best possible outcomes.
The Interventional Radiology Technologist III works in collaboration with the technical supervisor and medical director to provide high-quality diagnostic special procedures and interventional studies.
The technologist provides education to the patient/family about these procedures, as well as pre/post-procedure instructions as applicable. The technologist efficiently and accurately documents all procedures, patient-related events, and equipment issues.
Call responsibility is required.
Performs other duties as assigned.
ll Interventional Radiology Technologists project an image of professionalism in communication, appearance, and conduct and support the Radiology Department mission.
They participate in the continuous quality improvement process while maintaining a working knowledge and following all departmental and organizational policies and procedures.
This knowledge may include the use of specialized instrumentation and quality control requirements, as well as specific regulatory requirements of Title 22, California Licensing & Certification of Health Facilities and Title 17, California Radiation Control Regulations.
Performs other duties as assigned that do not violate laws or regulations that require personnel with special licensure.
Performs additional procedures in the Heart and Vascular Institute Hybrid Operating Room.
Education and Experience
Associate degree or higher.
Graduate of an ARRT-approved Radiologic Technology program is required.
5 years of continuous hospital experience in special procedures/interventional radiology or equivalent.
Performs all routine and advanced special procedures and interventional radiology exams.
Acts as a lead technologist with responsibilities including exam flow coordination, scheduling, supply ordering and tracking, equipment quality control, exam charging, orientation and training of new employees, and service recovery.
Completes two (2) units of mandatory stroke-specific training/education annually as required.
Experience must include right and left hemodynamic monitoring, using a laser for procedures, and performing all (HVI/Radiology) procedures.

information, neither Hoag nor our service providers can ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us over the internet. Any such transmission is at your own risk.

11. Changes To This Privacy Policy

12. California Immunization Registry
Hoag may share your immunization or tuberculosis (TB) screening test records with the California Immunization Registry (CAIR), a statewide, secure and confidential database of patient immunization information. The CAIR is used by health care professionals,
agencies, and schools to keep track of all shots and TB tests you take, and can provide proof about immunizations needed to start child care, school, or a new job. If you do not want your immunization or TB records to be shared with other registry
users, please fax or email the “Decline or Start Sharing/Immunization Information Request Form,” available on the CAIR website at

13. Your California Privacy Rights
