Job Summary:

Hoag Concierge Medicine and Executive Health is seeking highly-qualified fitness trainers to partner with its elite care team of physicians and exercise physiologists to deliver, client-specific, health and fitness programming to its members. Trainers will work directly with Hoag clients to assist in achieving their goals and desired outcomes. Applicants should be comfortable with aerobic exercise, lifts, cross-training, etc.  Role is per diem.



  • Provide highest level of client service and professionalism at all times.
  • Evaluate clients’ fitness levels and health conditions.
  • Build individualized exercise programs.
  • Explain exercises in detail and suggest alternatives if needed.
  • Monitor progress of clients’ fitness levels.
  • Explain safe and proper use of gym equipment.
  • Lead both individual and group training sessions.
  • Research on new exercise techniques and trends.
  • Promote the Hoag Concierge Medicine fitness packages and plans.
  • Perform CPR and administer first aid in case of emergencies.
  • Build a positive and trusting relationship with customers.
  • Utilize monitoring and evaluation techniques that consider the client’s exercise and nutrition needs.
  • Complete necessary documentation and assessments of clients.
  • Review dietary intake for factors that affect health conditions and nutritional risk.
  • Provides appropriate follow-up in accordance with the client’s treatment plan goals.
  • Ability to be caring and empathetic when helping clients address wellness issues and related emotions.
  • Participates in treatment team meetings to contribute interventions and assessment results to the multidisciplinary team.
  • Identifies and reports opportunities for quality improvement specific to fitness services to leadership.
  • Demonstrates ethical, professional boundaries with clients.
  • Be prepared for every appointment; start and end on time.
  • Professionally cater to client needs.
  • Participate in corporate events to promote wellness services.
  • Projects a positive image of the organization to employees, customers, industry, and community.
  • Participates in other meetings and committees as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Education, Training and Experience: 

  • Degree in Kinesiology, Sports Science or related field.
  • Previous experience as a personal trainer or relevant role in high-end setting.
  • Knowledge of various fitness programs, from basic exercises to more challenging training sessions.
  • Available to work flexible hours.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Certificated in CPR and first aid.
  • NASM certification preferred.
