Job Summary:

 

The Director of Supply Chain Operations is responsible for providing leadership, management and coordination of the Supply Chain Management and Procurement systems for Hoag Newport and Hoag Irvine and all affiliates. The position is responsible for managing and negotiating systems and contracts for direct purchasing, inventory management, distribution and logistics. The Director is responsible for overseeing receiving, ordering and providing stewardship in standardization. The position is accountable for value analysis and new technology evaluation process and assessment for the Centers of Excellence as well as the organization and its affiliates.

 

Job Specific Essential Functions:

 

  • The Director of Supply Chain Operations is responsible for the daily operations and oversight of corporate Purchasing, Storeroom Inventory Control and Receiving, Central Services, Material Services OR, for all campuses and ancillary offsite and affiliate supply chain operations.
  • Responsible for ensuring that hospital policies covering procurement are adhered to.
  • Evaluates all quotes and coordinates with vendors to provide required component bids and analyze all vendor performance to improve all purchasing process.
  • Responsible for proper utilization and oversees the day to day maintenance and its proper utilization and user training of the (Lawson MMIS) inventory and charge master system, purchasing platforms and GPO Supply Chain Tools.
  • Develops and monitors key operational metrics including but not limited to: PO activity and accuracy, buyer performance, Lawson issue tracking, RNI.
  • Corrects variant processes independently.
  • Is readily available to Supply Chain Management department staff and other hospital users to assist in purchasing procedures and appropriate use and troubleshooting of the MMIS.  Has primary responsibility for customer satisfaction for all interfacing departments.
  • Responsible for ensuring that hospital policies covering all areas of responsibility are up to date and adhered to.
  • Develops and maintains professional relationships with all suppliers.
  • Oversees supplier contracts to assures best pricing strategies for all purchases.
  • Oversees the vendor compliance and monitoring system.
  • Manages and administers the process and is the gate keeper for the Organization’s Annual Contract Review and regulatory compliance.
  • Performs personnel functions (e.g. interviewing, evaluating, supervising, etc.) for staff for the purpose of maintaining adequate staffing, enhancing productivity of personnel and achieving objectives.
  • Responsible for leading, providing professional development, and evaluating direct reports.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

 

Education, Training and Experience Required:

 

  • Required: Bachelors Degree
  • Preferred: Masters in Business Administration

 

Skills or Other Qualifications:

 

  • Required: 5 years progressive management experience in Supply Chain Operations, prior MMIS responsibility, Microsoft Office Suite skills
  • Preferred: Healthcare experience.

 

License and Certifications:

 

Required: None

Preferred: CMRP or CPM certification
