Salary Range: $41.2200 - $63.3700 /hour. Actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, skill level, and education.

 

All CT Technologists project an image of professionalism in communication, appearance and conduct and support the Radiology Department mission. They participate in the continuous quality improvement process while maintaining a working knowledge and following all departmental and organizational policies and procedures. This knowledge may include the use of specialized instrumentation and quality control requirements, as well as specific regulatory requirements of Title 22, California Licensing & Certification of Health Facilities and Title 17, California Radiation Control Regulations. Performs other duties as assigned that do not violate laws or regulations that require personnel with special licensure.

 

Essential Functions

  • CT Tech I: The CT Technologist I is a state and nationally registered professional. Under the Technical Supervisor and Medical Director’s direction, performs all routine CT procedures in the department. Must have comprehensive knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy. The technologist will use independent judgment and necessary skills in order to obtain high quality CT examinations. Call responsibility
  • Clinical Care: Ensure that quality patient care is delivered to all patients on a 24-hour basis, and the unit is maintained in accordance with professional and regulatory standards and the philosophy and goals of Hoag.
  • Completes two (2) units of mandatory stroke specific training/education annually as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

Education, Training and Experience

Required:

All CT technologists must graduate from an AMA approved Radiological Technology program.

 

Skills or Other Qualifications

Required:

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of proper body mechanics, safety measures and infection control.
  • Ability to follow instructions and demonstrate clinical proficiency specific to age of population served.
  • Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, gross pathology, medical terminology and radiologic patient positioning.
  • Demonstrates competency and proficiency in the following Level I procedures: All routine CT examinations of extremities, skull, spine, abdomen/pelvis, facial bones/sinuses, chest and intervention procedures such as biopsies, chest tube placement, drainage procedures.
  • Must be proficient in the use of the all equipment and hospital information system (Affinity), the radiology information system (RIS) and PACS.
  • Must document all equipment malfunctions appropriately.
  • Performs service recovery as appropriate.

 

License and Certifications

Required:

  • American Heart Association BLS Certification
  • State of California Radiologic Technologist License & Fluoroscopy Permit
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (CT) Certification within 6 months of hire
