Job Summary

The Sr. Clinical Quality Analyst supports clinical Quality Improvement by delivering data driven insights that support decision making for organizational clinical quality goals. Under the guidance of the Vice President, they will leverage analytical skills to support metric development and performance measurement on data-driven initiatives. The analyst will help define, develop, and implement work related to data sourcing, availability, usage, accuracy, and application, to support the availability and quality of data throughout the organization. Working with the Strategic Analytics team to optimize established or create new clinical quality dashboards, the analyst will conduct analysis of data to support decision making and incorporate broad knowledge to address complex, unusual, and critical issues; without intimidation of new and innovative ways to solve complex challenges.

The Sr. Clinical Quality Analyst must understand and accurately apply administrative, clinical, and demographic data for use in data-driven improvement initiatives. They will design and execute quantitative analyses to support hypotheses, enable informed decision-making, and drive performance improvement insights. They will conduct their analysis independently once the approach to the analysis has been structured, which includes collecting data, identifying data integrity risks, and developing an action plan to cleanse data as needed. The analyst will conduct external/internal research as needed on new concepts and subject matters associated with their assignments. They will develop and deliver executive-level presentations that clearly and concisely tell a compelling story.

The analyst will present their insights to project leadership, supporting the translation of analytical findings into impactful initiatives that will improve performance. They will review key performance indicators for a given initiative and create variance reports to help monitor progress compared to plan. As a Sr. Analyst, ability to identify opportunities and develop forecasts, statistical models, segmentation schemes, predictive models and other data-driven analyses for the organization is required. They will build and maintain an internal network for information support and perform other duties as assigned.

 

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Preferred Master’s Degree in Data Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years working with BI / analytic tools.
  • Experience working in an acute care hospital setting.
  • Exceptional quantitative, analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills; ability to develop solutions to problems independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong skills in SQL, MS Office, QlikView, Crystal Reports, & Database architecture.
  • Strong skills in Statistical Analysis.
  • Knowledge of key Hoag systems (EPIC, Strata, QlikView) preferred.
