CLINICAL NURSE NAVIGATOR I - ONCOLOGY ADMINISTRATION

Salary Range: $60.9000 - $93.6200 /hour. Actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, skill level, and education.

The Clinical Nurse Navigator is a registered nurse responsible for the seamless coordination of care across the continuum for patients with complex, integration-sensitive diagnoses.  

• The navigator is a patient advocate who coordinates care in conjunction with the physicians from the time of diagnosis or admission through discharge or up to the end of life.  
• Educates patient and family/significant others on the health care experience; implements, coordinates, monitors, and evaluates care options, services, and resources.  
• Links family/patient to appropriate resources as needed.
• The Clinical Nurse Navigator also assists in quality improvement initiatives by gathering, tracking, and researching quality metrics.
• Monitors outcomes, e.g. patient satisfaction, compliance with treatment regimen, and loyalty. Interacts with department nurses, and may orient and train incoming Clinical Nurses and Patient Care Assistants.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in nursing and 3 years’ experience in the area of specialty is required.
• Oncology: One plus (1+) years of nursing experience is required; Prior Navigator experience is preferred.

License and Certifications Required

• Registered Nurse in the State of California - Current and in good standing.
• Oncology: Oncology Nursing Certification (ONCC).

Certifications Preferred

• Current BLS certification.
