Salary Range: $26.5700 - $40.8500 /hour. Actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, skill level, and education.

 

The Cancer Center Community Program Coordinator responsibilities include, but not limited to: quality/process improvement support, cancer community event support, advocacy group support, data collection and entry, power point presentation development, excel spreadsheet development.

  • The Coordinator will assist and support with education materials, educational events and scheduling of patients and meetings/events.
  • Participates in events, program meetings and workshops for the purpose of conveying and gathering information required to sustain and improve services. Interacts with and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to educate physicians and staff regarding program element and implementation of program.
  • Assists with scheduling, answering phones, and other front office duties as necessary to assure efficient patient care and provides coverage of other cancer programs coordinators as needed.
  • Assists in obtaining medical records from offsite facilities.

 

Cancer Community Programs Coordinator

The Cancer Community Programs Coordinator provides a wide range of coordination and support services for the Cancer Institute assigned Navigation Services and corresponding Programmatic Community Support.

 

Coordinates with nurse navigators, oncology social work, support services leader and/or infusion services leader in the development, implementation and execution of administrative responsibilities, educational events, community outreach early detection screenings and tumor type month awareness events. Participates in events, program meetings and workshops for the purpose of conveying and gathering information required to sustain and improve services.

 

Assists with class audio visual equipment for in-person or virtual readiness, supplies are available, rooms are ready and appropriate prior to classes and meetings. Assists patients and their caregivers with travel and accommodation planning by providing information on air transportation, ground transportation, Hoag preferred hotel rates and guidance on vicinity related questions.

 

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in healthcare-related field OR in lieu of degree, minimum of one-year experience in a health administrative or secretarial capacity role for a hospital or medical office
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint
  • Formal or equivalent higher education and or certificate in office or medical terminology preferred
  • Basic knowledge of biology and clinical research is preferred for the Precision Medicine Programs Coordinator role.

 

License Required

  • Current CA driver’s license for local travel.

 

Certifications Preferred

  • Medical Terminology certificate
