BIOMED CLINICAL ENGINEER

Salary Range: $45.4100 - $69.8500 /hour. Actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, skill level, and education.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Clinical Engineers (CE’s) are a specialized and more technical subset of biomedical engineering and play a crucial role in improving the safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of healthcare delivery by ensuring that medical device systems are properly integrated, maintained, and secured from cyber risks. Position investigates system problems rather than equipment issues to include information systems, interfaces, and cyber security risks. Safeguards ePHI and HIPAA compliance. This includes existing, legacy and new systems technology evaluations, and assessments. Provides pre-purchase evaluations, vendor service contract analysis, vendor electronic access, and asset management of systems. Provides professional life-cycle planning services for utilization assessments, programming, acquisition, installation, maintenance, and replacement of major medical technology systems and components. Develops medical technology master plans and specific technology budget programs, capital equipment planning, feasibility studies, and project cost/schedule estimates. Provides Project Management for complex projects with multiple disciplinary team members. Must possess a strong analytical ability for the aggregation of complex data sets, sorting of data into logical segments, identification of relevant data trends, summary of findings, executive-level display of data insights, and translation of data into strategy with the ability to develop core components of a robust strategy with minimal direction.

 

Travel – Position may require local travel between various Organization locations.

 

Education and Experience

Required: Bachelor's Degree (Electronic Engineering Technology or Biomedical Engineering Technology or equivalent) or equivalent training required (e.g. military). Strong technical knowledge and specialized training of medical equipment systems and integrations. Five (5) Years of experience working with biomedical equipment systems in a clinical engineering healthcare environment preferred.

Valid driver’s license required; variable travel requirements depending on primary site that may require use of personal vehicle.
