ADMISSIONS REPRESENTATIVE IV - REGISTRATION ECU

Salary Range: $24.1000 - $37.0500 /hour. Actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, skill level, and education.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The Representative IV is responsible for following Federal, State and Local guidelines and works directly with patients and clinical teams for delivery of services to include but is not limited to: registration, scheduling, verification of insurance, collection of patient payments, the patient experience and communicating with internal departments. The Representative IV is proficient in the application and systems that may include but not limited to: Affinity, Passport, Chartmaxx, EPIC and/or other supporting information systems. 

Manages room/bed placement for patients admitted through the ER, direct admits, transfers, book admits, and surgery cases. Performs the Bed Board Specialist essential functions at least 85% of the time. Facilitates transfers from other hospitals to bring patients in-network, HLOC, family/patient requests, continuity of care, etc. The Representative IV has extensive knowledge in all roles of registration for the area they support. Responds appropriately to inquiries and complaints. Troubleshoots and problem solves independently as situations occur. Ensures Front Office equipment functions properly, placing services calls when required. Performs audits of hospital accounts for insurance quality.

Provides feedback to leadership regarding opportunities and goals for the department. Volunteers and assists leadership in special projects. Acts as a resource and provides guidance to new employees, offering assistance and direction to less experienced team members.

 

Education and Experience

High School diploma or equivalent required.

Minimum one (1) year clerical experience, medical terminology, including filing, computer skills and basic telephone skills required.

Minimum one (2) years medical front office experience, preferably within an acute healthcare system environment required.

High level of computer keyboarding skills for data input required. 

Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word and Excel required.
