Senior Vice President, Hoag Clinic

The Senior Vice President of Hoag Clinic is responsible for the overall planning, organizing, directing, and controlling of all administrative and clinical activities under Hoag Clinic, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hoag.  The Hoag Clinic is organized to deliver fully integrated, innovative, best in class multi-specialty care on both a local and national level. The SVP, Hoag Clinic will have principal responsibility for setting the strategy and direction of the Clinic by building and leading the senior executive team and allocating capital to Clinic priorities.


The SVP, Hoag Clinic reports to the Hoag President and CEO and represents the Clinic’s relationships with physician groups and medical services and programs.  In partnership with the senior leadership team and the Hoag Clinic Board, they are responsible for the success and operations of Hoag Clinic which includes the Management Services Organization (MSO), Hoag Specialty Clinics (HSC), Hoag Medical Group (HMG), and the Independent Physician Association (IPA) across all locations supporting Orange County.


Essential Functions:

  • Provides leadership for the overall operations of the Clinic. Has ultimate responsibility and ensures adequate planning and execution of day to day Clinic operations for:
    • Patient care services, operational/information services, organization structure, employee and management development, education and staffing
    • Policies and procedure and regulatory compliance
    • Physician relationships and contracting
    • Quality control in all services provided
    • Selection, development and mentoring of Executive staff
  • Provides leadership and direction to ensure compliance with strategic objectives and the delivery of high quality, cost-effective, fully integrated health care services.
  • Plans for new and innovative business development opportunities to enhance revenue and growth
  • Develops and fosters effective collaboration between business units, physician groups and other affiliated services
  • Reviews, approves and presents to CEO and Hoag Clinic Board of Directors annual and long-term financial and capital budgets.
  • Ensures strategic planning process is in place on annual and long-term basis; plans are maintained and/or modified as necessary to align with business development and/or business regulatory environments.
  • Has oversight of all Clinic construction, real estate and related facility operations.
  • May represent the organization in local, state and national healthcare associations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education, Training and Experience



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in healthcare operations at the administrative leadership level.
  • Demonstrated experience in integrating and coordinating diverse areas of management and knowledge in the following areas: healthcare delivery and business models, human resources, finance, oral and written communications, planning and evaluation, and governance.



  • Experience leading integrated healthcare organization.
  • Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration or related discipline.
