Job Description:


Radiologic Technologist I:

The Radiologic Technologist I is an entry level state and nationally registered professional. Under the Technical Supervisor’s direction, performs all general diagnostic radiologic procedures in the department. The technologist will use independent judgment and necessary skills in order to obtain high quality radiographs.


Radiologic Technologist II:

Includes all of the above and a minimum of one year continuous radiology experience or equivalent. Performs routine and some advance radiographic procedures.


Education and Licensure:

Graduate of an AMA approved Radiologic Technology program, California State CRT and fluoroscopy license, American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) license and CPR.


Skills or Other Qualifications Required: Radiologic

Technologist I:

Good interpersonal and communication skills. Knowledge of proper body mechanics, safety measures and infection control. Ability to follow instructions. Demonstrate clinical proficiency specific to age of population served. Must be proficient in criteria described in attached evaluation form. Demonstrates competency and proficiency in the following Level I procedures as determined by annual competency evaluation. Routine radiography of extremities, skull, spine, abdomen, facial bones, paranasal sinuses, chest, thorax, shoulder girdle, pelvic structures, minor injection procedures such as IVP’s and HSG’s, and routine fluoroscopic studies such as barium enemas, and upper GI series. Must be proficient in the use of the all equipment and hospital information system (Affinity), the radiology information system (SMS), and PACS. Must document all equipment malfunctions appropriately.


Radiologic Technologist II:

Includes all of the above and demonstrates competency, proficiency and assists in training of the following Level II procedures where applicable, as determined by annual competency evaluation. Routine skull radiography, facial bones, paranasal sinuses, extremities, special chest views, sternum, and sternoclavicular joints, acromioclavicular joints, special hip and abdomen views, all barium radiography, minor injection procedures, routine fluoroscopy, minor trauma radiography, and general pediatric radiography.
