As a valuable member of the team at Hoag Medical Group (HMG), you’ll give valuable diagnostic x-ray assistance to medical teams providing direct outpatient care to our customers. Our patients benefit from same-day appointments and extended hours, along with access to Hoag Urgent Care and our highly skilled Care Management team. They are culturally diverse, ranging from young adults to seniors, suffering from a range of conditions that require collaboration with a multidisciplinary team across the continuum of care. Under the leadership of our Licensed Vocational Nurse Supervisor, the Site Manager and/or Radiology Manager, you will assist a team of physicians with general and specialized medical practice duties, perform diagnostic x-rays, and handle all darkroom duties.


Other duties may include:

  • Performing diagnostic procedures within licensure; achieving a high level of image quality in a minimal amount of time using correct anatomical markers.
  • Maintaining a clean, functional work environment to include patient log maintenance, adequate supplies.
  • Gathering pertinent previous studies, films, and patient documentation to submit to Radiologist for interpretation.
  • Performing visual inspection of image for exposure factors (contrast, density, etc.) to ensure technical quality of digital image.
  • Demonstrating an ability to utilize multiple EMR systems such as IDX, Allscripts, and GE- Radiology Information Systems and GE- Picture Archiving and Communication System; for scheduling, charge entry, patient history, and verifying images and crafting radiology dictation markers.

  • High school Diploma or GED.
  • Graduate of a State-recognized vocational school.
  • Two or more (2+) years of experience as a Back Office Medical Assistant/Limited X-Ray Tech in an ambulatory care facility or medical group practice.
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Windows.
  • Knowledge/experience with GE Radiology Information Systems and Picture Archiving and Communication System.
  • Certificate of completion from an accredited limited radiology program, including digital training.
  • X-Ray Technician X-Ray Permit in torso, extremity, chest and digital imaging.
  • Medical Assistant Certificate from a licensed school.
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certificate.
  • Strong communication skills, ability to work harmoniously with patients and other clinic staff members, and keen attention to detail and accuracy.
