INVENTORY SPECIALIST LEAD - MATERIALS SERVICES OR

Salary Range: $23.6300 - $36.5100 /hour. Actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, skill level, and education.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Processes requisitions, pulling and delivering of stock items to ordering departments. Receiving and delivering of special orders item(s) to the appropriate departments. Completes weekly inventory of all supplies for ordering purposes. Maintains records of inventory of all supplies taken at specified times to ensure product on hand. Notifies buyer and manager in sufficient time of over/under supply to use or replace items. Receives and stores all products according to regulatory standards, policies and procedures.

Receives and processes supply and special-order requests, replenishes specialty carts and kits and occasionally cleans and reprocesses various medical equipment. Records important documentation in appropriate log book.

 

The lead oversees the day to day operations of inventory control, storeroom and shipping & receiving. Maintains storeroom par levels, review min/max, and ensures overstock is reviewed daily. Performs other duties as assigned.

 

 

 

Emergency Department: Oversees the day-to-day operations of inventory control, stocking of supplies, and ED storage areas. Oversees the maintenance and budget of the supplies and equipment for the ED and delivers reports upon request. Submits requisitions and supply orders, receives inventory and special-order requests, replenishes specialty carts and kits. Occasionally cleans, inventories, and reprocesses various medical equipment for reuse or recycling. Records important documentation in appropriate logbook.

 

Supports the training, daily chore completion, and duties of the ED Supply Team and fills in where needed when absences or request for time off occurs. Demonstrates excellent communication and interdepartmental collaboration between supply chain, central services, Supply manufacturers and Biomed. Collaborates within the ED with ED Charge nurses, ED doctors, and all other ED staff with the goal of providing supplies to clinical areas for patient care when they are needed and ensuring that ED equipment is functioning properly.

 

Will work with biomed on all equipment requiring Preventative maintenance (PM) in the ED, including rounding up and locating equipment as needed. Receives and processes supply and special-order request, replenishes specialty kits, physician's trays, special packs. Instructs and manages the cleaning and reprocessing of various medical equipment.

 

Education and Experience

Required: High school diploma or equivalent work experience. 6 months to 1 year previous storeroom experience, preferably in a hospital. Three (3) years Central Services experience. Two (2) years in a lead of supervisor position.

 

Preferred: All Levels: Knowledge of shipping / receiving, medical supplies and ordering.

Valid California driver’s license required for those who are authorized to operate Hoag vehicles.
