Job Description:

The Dosimetrist provides dosimetry support to the department of Radiation Oncology including treatment planning, QC and QA measurements, patient dosimetry, and special procedures.   Consults with physician staff on the preparation of computerized treatment plans.  Assists with maintaining compliance with applicable state and federal radiation regulations.

Projects an image of professionalism in communication, appearance and conduct. Supports the radiation oncology/gamma knife mission. Participates in the continuous quality improvement process. Maintains a working knowledge of departmental standard operating procedures. This knowledge may include the use of specialized instrumentation, Quality Control requirements, and preventive maintenance. Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Job Requirements:

  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required
  • California Registered Therapist (CRT) required
  • Specific knowledge and skills in the operation of computerized radiation therapy treatment planning systems.
  • Demonstrates effective communication, interpersonal skills, organizational ability, knowledge of proper body mechanics, safety measures and infection control, ability to follow instructions, knowledge of section specific information and instrumentation may be required.

 

Job Preference:

  • Registry of Certified Medical Dosimetrists (CMD) preferred
