As part of the Hoag Fudge Birthing Suites healthcare team, you will provide patients and their families a safe and secure environment that promotes a healthy and beautiful birthing experience. 
Inside Hoag’s Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Post-Partum Unit
Brand new state-of-the-art labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum (LDRP) birthing suites that include- 12 private birthing suites, 2 operating rooms for cesarean sections/procedures, 2-bed triage, and a Level 2 special care nursery. 


The birthing suites offer a family-centered maternity care design and a philosophy of care emphasizing choice, connectivity, compassion, competence, and cultural inclusion in a safe and secure environment.
Duties Include: 

Responsible for Special Care Nursery level 2 within the Birthing suites. With a preference of having some experience caring for labor, delivery, recovery, postpartum, and newborn care which includes:  planning, directing, assessing, and providing nursing care according to the policies and procedures of the LDRP department.
Demonstrating skill in the use of equipment and devices pertinent to treatment, procedures, and practices.
Responding to emergency situations.
Adhering to Infection Control policies and procedures, following Standard Precautions, and specific isolation precautions for the prevention and spread of bloodborne pathogens and other communicable diseases.
Assessing the educational ability and level of the family, incorporating available education materials, and documenting understanding in the patient record. 
Communicates changes on the patient's condition to the Charge Nurse/supervisor and the physician or CNM directing the care of the patient as well as pertinent information at shift report using the patient Plan of Care.

To that end, we’ll expect you to participate in our continuous quality improvement process and maintain a working knowledge of departmental and hospital standards, policies, and procedures.


Our healthcare teams follow safety measures and infection control protocols, being attentive to details, and having intimate knowledge of the populations we serve.

Active, current California RN License.
A minimum of two years of recent nursing experience in an acute care NICU environment. 
Basic Fetal Monitoring
ACLS, BLS, NPR Certifications
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). If you have not obtained a BSN upon hire, it is required that you begin a BSN program within one year of the hire date and obtain your BSN within two years of starting the program.
