CLINICAL NURSE I-IV - LABOR AND DELIVERY - IRVINE

Salary Range: $49.76 - $85.83 /hour. Actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, skill level, and education.

 

Essential Responsibilities:

The Clinical Nurse – Maternal Child Health role provides direct patient care in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act for assigned patients in maternal child departments including Perinatology, LDR, Mother/Baby, LDRP and NICU. The nurse collaborates with other disciplines of the health care team to ensure the delivery of safe, timely and appropriate quality patient care. This includes providing physical assessments, nursing interventions, pain management, medication administrations, specimen collection, meeting nutritional and emotional needs, and education and discharge needs of the patients assigned. Utilizes the nursing process based on evidence-based best practices to meet patient care needs. Evaluates and adjusts the nursing care process as necessary with consultation as needed and confers with the appropriate resource personnel when making ethical/legal/medical dilemma decisions. Maintains a working knowledge of departmental and hospital standards, policies, and procedures. Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Schedule

  • Full Time and Per Diem positions available
  • Hours/Pay Period (2 weeks): 72 (Full Time) and 24 (Per Diem)
  • 12-hour shifts

 

License Required

  • Registered Nurse in the State of California - Current and in good standing required.

 

Certifications Required

  • BLS, NRP, ACLS, and Basic Fetal Monitoring are required.
  • AWHONN Fetal Monitoring certification required upon hire (employees hired before 4/1/2025 only: Fetal Monitoring must be obtained within six months of hire); AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification required within two years from hire and must be renewed every 3 calendar years.

 

Level 1: Education and Experience

  • Clinical Nurse I's at Magnet-designated facilities only require a BSN or that a BSN program is started within one year of hire date and a BSN degree is attained within two years of the starting the BSN program.
  • 6 months of experience in Labor and Delivery as an RN is required.

Level 2: Education Training & Experience

  • BSN required.
  • 1 year of experience in Labor and Delivery as an RN is required.

Level 3: Education Training & Experience

  • BSN required.
  • National certification is required.
  • 3 years of experience in Labor and Delivery as an RN is required.

Level 4: Education Training & Experience

  • MSN required.
  • National Certification is required.
  • 4 years of experience in Labor and Delivery as an RN is required.

 

Salary Range: $49.27 - $88.84

  • Maximum: $76.77

Level 2: 

  • Minimum: $51.73
  • Midpoint: $66.14
  • Maximum: $80.54

Level 3: 

  • Minimum: $54.34
