LABRATORY QUALITY CONTROL SPECIALIST (CLS)

HOAG Clinic Laboratory is in search of a Documentation & Quality Control Specialist based in Irvine, CA.

As a member of the laboratory team,

  • You will review patient results data, levy Jennings reports, calibration and verification reports of instruments, process validation reports for our pre-analytic, analytic and post analytic processes.
  • You will also ensure laboratory standard operating procedures, instruction manuals, and training guides are up to date.
  • Assist the laboratory manager in the competency and proficiency testing of the staff-
  • Will be performing bench work as needed

This is a full-time day shift position working Monday – Friday from 9:30AM-6:00PM.

 Ideal candidates will have high attention to detail, strong Excel skills, is very organized, and drive to learn and grow with the department and company.

 Responsibilities:

  • Review Levy Jennings Quality control data and patient results data which are entered daily by the testing staff.
  • Review and update technical documents (Calibration /Verification reports & validation reports)
  • Ensure SOP’s, instruction manuals, and study guides are up to date and accurate 
  • Update Laboratory Metrics and track QA progress by tracking failure rate, occurrence, and deviation metrics
  • Assist the lab Manager respond to audit findings.
  • Assist the Clinical laboratory Staff in providing quality controls phase-in and correlation reports with new lot to lot and new reagents
  • Partner closely with other departments in as needed projects.

 

Requirements :

  • Bachelor’s degree in a science related field preferred- CA CLS license is a must
  • Experience performing quality control / audit work of patient data and reports •
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to type 60+ wpm
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and grammatical skills • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel , Word & Powerpoint.
  • Understanding of a clinical laboratory with experience Chemistry, Hematology, Molecular Microbiology a plus
  • Ability to manage multiple timelines while maintaining quality of work using organizational, communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills within a cross-functional team
