As part of the Hoag Fudge Birthing Suites healthcare team, you will provide patients and their families a safe and secure environment that promotes a healthy and beautiful birthing experience.

Inside Hoag’s Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Post-Partum Unit
Brand new state-of-the-art labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum (LDRP) birthing suites that include 12 private birthing suites, 2 operating rooms for cesarean sections/procedures, 2 bed triage, and a Level 2 special care nursery. 


The birthing suites offer a family-centered maternity care design and a philosophy of care emphasizing choice, connectivity, compassion, competence, and cultural inclusion in a safe and secure environment. 


Duties Include: 

  • Supervises nurses, caregivers, techs and administrative support on their assigned shifts.
  • Exercises independent judgments in making patient assignments and adjusts these assignments based on the competencies of the caregiver, patient acuity, continuity of care and environmental factors.
  • Demonstrating skill in the use of equipment and devices pertinent to treatment, procedures and practices.
  • Provides direction and leadership in critical emergency situations ensuring patient safety is maintained.
  • Is designated to provide ongoing first-line support for workflow education/review, and trouble-shooting, to fellow clinicians even during non-activation times.
  • Adhering to Infection Control policies and procedures, following Standard Precautions, and specific isolation precautions for the prevention and spread of bloodborn pathogens and other communicable diseases.


Hoag nurses consistently maintain a high standard of professional communication, appearance and conduct. They’re driven to excel in patient treatment and nursing, and they’re deeply passionate about their work. To that end, we’ll expect you to participate in our continuous quality improvement process and maintain a working knowledge of departmental and hospital standards, policies, and procedures.


Our healthcare teams follow safety measures and infection control protocols, being attentive to details, and having intimate knowledge of the populations we serve. 



  • Active, current California RN License.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
  • A minimum of four years of recent nursing experience in an acute care labor and delivery unit or birthing suite. 
  • Experience in a relief charge or charge nurse role. 
  • Intermediate Fetal Monitoring.
  • ACLS, BLS, NPR Certifications.
