Salary Range: $57.0900 - $94.1800 /hour. Actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, skill level, and education.

 

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
The Epic Training Manager is responsible for creating and executing the overall vision the Epic Training program. This includes serving as a leader in promoting the understanding, integration, and application of information and training technologies in the healthcare setting (acute care and ambulatory). The Epic Training Manager is responsible for planning and directing the analysis, selection of methods, implementation, and support of the organizational Epic training program. The Epic Training Manager may be responsible for other Hoag applications such as the Hoag LMS system that supports EHR training, where all Epic education is recorded for the enterprise. The Epic Training Manager is responsible for communicating training policies and procedures across the organization and for overall coordination and management of training activities and trainers.
The Epic Training Manager is responsible for the overall implementation of educational development at Hoag regarding the EHR. This position manages all Hoag’s Epic training for the enterprise, including but not limited to physician education, clinician education, clinical student education and education of non-clinical Epic users (for example, Registration, Scheduling, EVS, Transport, etc.).
The Epic Training Manager leads a dynamic team of Principal Trainers, business analysts, and contractors (as needed). The Epic Training Manager is responsible for determining required training resources, directing and managing the training team staffing, determining the curriculum delivery methods, oversees the creation and maintenance of a realistic training environment, creates a course catalog and training schedule, and ensures end users are trained before access to the Epic production environment is granted.
Education and Experience
5+ years as training manager in a health care or technology setting
Bachelor’s Degree with proven knowledge and experience with computer applications/systems utilized in a healthcare organization.
Minimum 3 years’ experience with EHR systems implementation support or as an Epic Credentialed Trainer
Preferred:
Master’s degree
Existing knowledge of organizational culture, personnel and processes
Advance experience with Microsoft tools, including Word, Excel and Visio
Ability to operate a variety of computer software and audio/visual equipment
License Required
Current CA driver’s license required for local travel
Certifications Required
Epic Certification in one or more EPIC modules through a formal Epic training program
