DIRECTOR PUBLIC RELATIONS - MARKETING

Salary Range: $63.73 - $105.15 /hour. Actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, skill level, and education.

 

The Principal Public Relations leadership role is responsible for developing and executing strategic communication plans that enhance our brand reputation, ensure cohesive messaging across all platforms, and engage both our external and internal audiences. This leader has a proven track record in managing comprehensive PR campaigns, crisis communications, and fostering a positive workplace culture through effective internal communications.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive public relations and internal communications strategies that align with the organization's mission, values, and business objectives.
  • Elevate the organization's brand and public image through proactive media relations, thought leadership, and community engagement initiatives.
  • Serve as the primary spokesperson for the organization.Build and maintain strong relationships with media outlets. Manage all aspects of media inquiries, press releases, and media events to ensure accurate and positive coverage.
  • Lead crisis communication efforts, including the development of response strategies, to protect and manage the organization's reputation during adverse events.
  • Develop and execute internal communication plans that support employee engagement, foster a positive organizational culture, and ensure staff are informed about company developments, policies, and achievements.
  • Work closely with the marketing team and other departments to ensure consistency of messages and the integration of public relations and internal communications with overall marketing strategies.
  • Establish metrics for measuring the effectiveness of public relations and internal communications activities. Report on achievements and insights to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the PR and internal communications team. Manage resources and budgets effectively.

Education and Experience

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in public relations, communications, or a related field, with at least 3 years in a management role.
  • Strong understanding of the healthcare industry's challenges, regulations, and trends. Proven track record in developing and implementing successful PR and internal communications strategies.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills. Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
  • Ability to manage crisis communications and handle sensitive information discreetly. 
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

Preferrred:

  • Familiarity with healthcare regulations and standards.
