3RD PARTY IT APPLICATIONS MANAGER

Salary Range: $63.7300 - $105.1500 /hour. Actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, skill level, and education.

 

Position Summary:
The IT Applications Manager for Ancillary Applications is responsible for the strategic management, implementation, support, and optimization of key inpatient IT solutions. This includes Patient Engagement solutions (such as PCare), Clinical Communication tools, Nurse Call systems, RTLS (Real-Time Location Systems), Labor & Delivery applications, and Pharmacy solutions like Pyxis. The role also requires expertise in healthcare mobile solutions (e.g., Rover, Haiku), Epic EMR, Epic’s integration with third-party applications, and emerging AI-driven healthcare technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
Application Management & Strategy

  •  Lead the implementation, configuration, and support of ancillary applications that enhance inpatient care and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure seamless integration of third-party applications with Epic EMR, following best practices and security standards.
  • Collaborate with hospital leadership and clinical teams to identify opportunities for innovation and process improvements in patient engagement and clinical workflows.
  • Oversee system upgrades, patches, and vendor relationships to ensure the stability and performance of all managed applications.

Patient Engagement & Clinical Communication

  • Manage solutions such as PCare, nurse call systems, and RTLS to enhance patient experience and staff communication.
  • Support and optimize clinical mobile solutions such as Rover and Haiku to improve clinician mobility and efficiency.
  • Evaluate and implement AI-driven healthcare solutions that support inpatient care and operational improvements.

Integration & Technical Oversight

  • Work closely with the Epic team to ensure smooth Epic-to-third-party integrations, leveraging HL7, FHIR, and other interoperability standards.
  • Partner with IT security and infrastructure teams to ensure compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory requirements.
  •  Drive the adoption of mobile and cloud-based technologies for improved accessibility and performance.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead and mentor a team of application analysts, ensuring high levels of performance and professional growth.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between IT, clinical stakeholders, vendors, and operational leaders.
  • Develop and maintain roadmaps, budgets, and strategic plans for supported applications.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Healthcare Informatics, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  •  5+ years of experience in IT application management, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Strong knowledge of Epic EMR and experience with Epic integrations.
  • Experience managing inpatient IT solutions, including clinical communication, patient engagement, pharmacy, and RTLS systems.
  • Familiarity with mobile healthcare applications (Epic Rover, Haiku, or similar).
  • Experience with healthcare AI solutions and their impact on clinical workflows.
  • Strong understanding of interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR, APIs) and security best practices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
  • Knowledge of Epic is preferred (pertaining to 3rd party application)
  • Understanding of 3rd  Party Applications and workflow process into Epic
  • Experience working with hospital 3rd Party Applications  i.e. 3M\360, OnBase, ProVation, SMART, Dragon, and clinical applications (i.e. CareFusion, Endo Tool, Pixis ES), etc.

Preferred Qualifications:
•    Experience with AI and predictive analytics in healthcare.
•    Knowledge of cloud-based healthcare solutions and mobile device management.
•    Certifications in ITIL, Epic modules, or project management (PMP, Lean Six Sigma) are a plus.
